In a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released yesterday, more Filipinos in the second quarter of the year believe that their lives worsened yet remain optimistic that the quality of life and the economy will improve.
The second quarter poll results showed that the number of Filipinos who said their lives worsened increased to 27 percent from 21 percent in March. Moreover, those who said their lives improved lessened to 32 percent from 41 percent.
In spite of the drop in the quality of life, Filipinos remain optimistic that that their lives and the economy will improve in the next 12 months. From 46 percent in March, a 3 point increase to 49 percent in the survey showed that Filipinos expect their quality of life to get better; while 43 percent expect that the Philippine economy would progress, up by a point from 42 percent last March.
